Five Star Luxury Accommodation

In the heart of Hirafu, you will stay in a design-led 5* luxury onsen hotel walking distance from the lifts, restaurants, and nightlife. The rooms are styled in a modern Japanese aesthetic. Your stay includes daily breakfast and rooms offer either a twin-share or a king-size bed setup. The hotel is built around wellness. There’s a full traditional onsen with hot and cold pools, a private yoga studio, a gym, and a spa offering massages and treatments.

Inside the building, you’ll also find several on-site dining options — from fresh pastries and coffee to Japanese fine dining and après-style cocktails — so whether you want to roll straight into dinner or take a slow morning, everything is just a few steps away.

Guided snow days

Across two days, you’ll ride with professional local guides who know every tree line, powder stash, and backcountry gate. We’ll split into groups based on ability.

Night ski experience

Niseko is one of the few places in the world where you can ski powder at night. We’ll head out after dark to chase turns under the lights — it’s surreal, quiet, and something you won’t forget.

Daily yoga

Energising flows in the morning to get you moving and slower sessions in the evening to help you wind down. All levels are welcome, and everything takes place in a private studio inside the hotel

Onsen visit

Midweek, we’ll visit a local natural outdoor onsen. It’s the perfect way to reset your muscles — hot mineral water and mountain air a real local Japanese experience.

Group Transfers

Group airport transfers from Sapporo are included in the retreat price if you arrive and depart on the designated arrival and departure dates. Once you arrive, we’ll handle the rest.

Accomodation

We’re staying in modern Japanese studios with breakfast included. Rooms are warm, minimal, and just a short walk to the lifts and restaurants. Choose twin-share or king-size for single or double occupancy.

Welcome dinner

On our first night, we’ll gather for a shared welcome dinner. It’s a relaxed chance to meet the group, settle in, and get excited about the week ahead with your new found friends.

Backcountry hike*

For those who want to explore further, we’ve added an optional intro to backcountry touring and avalanche safety. It’s a full-day experience with certified guides — $350 per person.

Optional backcountry hike experience

For those ready to venture beyond the resort, we offer an optional full-day guided backcountry hike and avalanche awareness session — with expert guidance and support. Designed for adventurous beginners, this experience introduces you to the basics of backcountry touring in a safe and approachable way. You’ll head out with certified local guides for a full-day journey into Niseko’s untouched powder terrain, far from the groomed runs and lift lines.

The day begins with an introduction to avalanche safety equipment, including how to use a beacon, shovel, and probe, followed by a 2-3 hour uphill hike using either splitboards (for snowboarders) or touring skis (for skiers). Riders can also use traditional boards or skis with snowshoes if preferred. Along the way, you’ll learn how to move efficiently in the backcountry, assess terrain, and travel safely as a group.

This is not a high-performance day — it’s about moving at a comfortable pace, learning the fundamentals, and experiencing the mountain in a totally new way. No previous touring experience is needed, but participants should be confident riding intermediate terrain in mixed conditions. All required gear can be rented from the hotel’s in-house rental store with prior notice. The investment for the day is $350 USD per person.

Frequently asked questions

What exactly is included in the retreat price?

6 nights accommodation, daily breakfast, group airport transfers on arrival and departure day, a welcome dinner, two guided resort days, a night ski experience, a local outdoor onsen trip, and daily yoga sessions.

What is the fitness or experience level required?

You should be confident skiing or riding on intermediate terrain. The guided days will be split by ability so everyone gets the right level of challenge. For yoga, all levels are welcome — from complete beginners to experienced practitioners. If you are a begginer skier or snowboarder and you still want to join for the week we can organise lessons for you in place of the guided sessions. Please note there may be an additional cost for lessons depending on duration.

Can I come solo?

Absolutely. Many of our guests come solo — you can book a single occupancy room or choose twin share and we’ll pair you with a like-minded roommate.

Can I book extra nights accomodation?

If you wish to arrive early to Niseko or depart later than the designated arrival and departure days we can organise additional nights accomodation for you at the hotel. Please note this is subject to availiability and the hotel’s own room rates at the time of booking. Book early to avoid dissapointment.

How do I get to Niseko?

Niseko is located in Hokkaido, the Northern most island of Japan. Fly into New Chitose Airport (CTS) in Sapporo. Most international flights route through Tokyo Haneda (HND) or Narita (NRT) first, then connect to CTS. From the airport, group transfers to the hotel are included in your retreat package.

Are there direct flights from Tokyo to Sapporo?

Yes — multiple daily flights run between Tokyo and Sapporo with ANA, JAL, and budget carriers like Peach and Jetstar. Flights take about 1 hour and 30 minutes. If you fly internationally with JAL, check out their “Japan Explorer Pass” or free domestic flight offers often included with international long-haul tickets.

What time should I arrive and depart?

We recommend arriving at New Chitose Airport (CTS) by 2PM on March 8th and departing after 12PM on March 14th to align with the included group transfers. We’ll confirm exact transfer times closer to the trip. If you arrive on days other than the designated arrival and departure days, group transfers will not be included in the cost.

Alternative ways to get to Niseko if I arrive early or depart late?

If you arrive to Niseko earlier than the designated arrival date or depart later there are many ways you can get to the airport. Private taxi’s can be arranged, in addition there is a great local bus service that can be booked in advanced and a regularly running train too.

What kind of accommodation is included?

You’ll stay 6 nights in a modern Japanese studio room. All rooms include underfloor heating, ensuite bathrooms, and breakfast daily. You can choose between twin sharing, king single occupancy, or king double occupancy when you book.

Are there any other activities I can book?

Yes — we offer a range of optional add-ons for those who want to explore more of what Niseko has to offer. All extras require advanced notice and are subject to availability, so we recommend booking early if interested.

  • Snowboard or Ski Lessons: Private or group sessions are available for all levels. Whether you’re a beginner or refining technique, we can match you with a certified instructor.

  • Snowshoe Adventure: A slower-paced guided walk through Niseko’s forest trails — peaceful, scenic, and a great low-impact option for non-riders or rest days.

  • Backcountry Snowmobiling: Ride deep into powder-filled backcountry terrain with a guide. No experience needed, but spots fill quickly.

  • Cat Skiing: For advanced riders looking for untouched snow, cat skiing gets you into terrain lifts can’t reach. Full-day guided trips only, limited availability.

  • Heli Skiing: The ultimate experience for confident skiers or boarders. Weather and conditions dependent, with limited spaces. Must be arranged well in advance.

What equipment do I need to bring?

Bring your own skis or snowboard, boots, helmet, outerwear, and layers for cold weather. Goggles, gloves, and base layers are essential. Rentals are available nearby — let us know if you need help arranging gear in advance we havea rental gear partner located within the hotel that can deliver any rental equipement right to your door.

Is backcountry gear needed?

Only if you’re joining the optional backcountry + avi training day. You’ll need a beacon, shovel, probe, touring skis/splitboard or snowshoes, skins, and a backpack (that can carry your skis/snowboard if snowshoeing). Rentals are available in Niseko and we can help you reserve what you need in advance.

What lift pass should I get?

You’ll need a Niseko United pass for most of the week and a Rusutsu pass for one day. If you have an IKON Pass, it includes Niseko. Epic Pass includes Rusutsu. Otherwise, plan to buy a local pass (~$300 USD total for the week). We’ll help with guidance closer to the date.

What is the optional backcountry day?

It’s a full-day guided intro to backcountry touring and avalanche awareness with certified guides. You’ll learn how to use your safety gear, skin uphill, assess terrain, and ride untracked powder. It costs $350 USD per person and requires appropriate equipment (see above). We need a minimum of 5 people for the day to run. Refunds will be issued if we do not get the minimum no. of required participants.

Do I need insurance?

Yes — comprehensive travel insurance is required, including cover for winter sports, cancellations, medical emergencies, and lost luggage. If you plan to ride outside the gates in resort or join the backcountry day we reccomend taking out specialist backcoutry search and rescue insurance.

Can I book a massage or spa treatment?

Yes — the hotel has a full spa offering massages, facials, and recovery treatments. You can book directly at check-in or we can help arrange it in advance if preferred.
